Junk Food is forever favorite, for the long run it ruins our digestive system and imbalance the whole routine of our digestive system. Did you know eating junk is inviting our body to get prone to any type of new disease? 2019 is all about changing these age-old food habits.

Bakery Items – This is my all-time favorite yet scary intake. Sweet or Savory from bakeries need to be replaced by instant cakes or pastries with homemade ingredients and fresh cream. The stabilizers or preservatives used in any bakery items are not good for everyday intake. If you are still dicey make sure you get a fresh loaf or sponge cake made from your baker friend.

Fermented Breakfast Dishes – Many of us don’t like fermented dosa’s and these can be surely replaced by instant dosa which is easy to make and yummy too. Read Malvani Ghavne and Instant Dosa Recipe

Eat Seasonal and Organic – It is important to include fresh veggies and fruits that are local and seasonal. We make sure to pick them from an organic farm as the other ones have pesticides sprayed during farming. Once you cut any fruit or vegetable consume it within 20 minutes after you cook any vegetable do not keep stale vegetables in the refrigerator for the other day, make sure you have it the same day.

Wrong Food Combinations – I have been regular with Ayurvedic Consultation and mom used to always tell about wrong food combinations, sharing them today. Fish or Meat with Milk, Milk with any Meal, Ice-cream with Fish, Yogurt with Milk, Tea with Fruits.

Replace Sweets – It is very important to include homemade sweet options like Sheera (Sweet made with Semolina), Atta ka Halwa (Sweet made with Wheat Flour), Til Poli (Sweet made with Sesame Seeds and Jaggery), Puran Poli (Sweet made with Split Chickpeas). Avoid packaged foods as it contains harmful preservatives, make fresh sweet dishes at home.

Keep Yourself Hydrated – We come across people who say drink 3 liters of water every day. I stick to one pattern throughout – “Drink water only if it’s necessary, every body is different and acts differently”. Keeping yourself hydrated will not only add a glow to your face but makes digestion smooth. Drink a glass of lukewarm water each morning. Carry a steel or copper bottle while traveling. Drink coconut water and avoid aerated drinks.
