Connecting with divine power helps me calm myself and prepare for all the life challenges and surprises. I have an inclination to Lord Shiva. The same goes for Shri Sai Baba. Nitin is a true devotee and my trust in Shri Sai Baba strengthened even more after marriage. Sindhudurg is gifted with majestic traditional temples. Few of these deities are ‘Jagrut Devasthan’. They are even wish-fulfilling (Navas).

The Bharadi Devi Temple is located in the Masure area of Malvan. An old temple dedicated to the Goddess of Earth. Devotees come from all parts of Maharashtra to make offerings to her, pray to her, or thank her for granting their special wishes. We love to visit different places, especially these temples. They have such scenic views around, I love to watch nature, a beautiful sense of positive energy and warmth.

Aai Bharadi Devi is a Jaagrut devasthan. Devotees come to express Navas or desire. Once it is fulfilled they visit to offer prayers of gratitude.

We remember visiting Bharadi Devi Temple just in April 2019. We could not manage to visit the temple during the annual fair or ‘Anganewadi Jatra’ in February 2019. I took the home pregnancy test on 17th February 2020. This was the same day as ‘Anganewadi Jatra’. The moment we saw those two pink lines. I knew this was it and it was truly amazing! We had been blessed by the divine power. I could not contain that excitement and both of us were on cloud nine. We were all prepared for the little bundle of joy.

Bharadi Devi

This could be a coincidence for many but for me, it was truly magical. Having said this, I know not all of us believe in God. Some of us don’t agree but I would always say ‘If not God, there is a Divine Power in the Universe’. This power gives us the strength and courage to stand against all odds of life. Infact, I remember Nitin told me; he came to visit and pray at the temple in 2016 when the elder relative asked the temple priest to offer a prayer or Garhana. We were married in 2016 🙂 We were destined to meet. Let me tell you, I’m born and raised in Pune. My ancestors belong to Devgad and Sawantwadi. Marriage brought me back to my roots 🙂 away from the chaos. It feels blessed to be in the vicinity of nature.

To add on, all the politicians of Maharashtra visit ‘Bharadi Devi Temple’. They visit to seek blessings and offer her prayers during the annual ‘Anganewadi Jatra’. One can even check Youtube videos and listen to their experiences. If you would love to know more about the Bharadi Devi, please check the Wikipedia or Maharashtra Tourism Page for more information.
