I love khakhras. They come in many flavors. I have never tried making anything at home. I love chapati’s but at times feel bored and convert them into yummy khakhra’s. Sharing the quick way to make your own khakhra 🙂

Ingredients:- Chapati/Roti, Oil, Ghee, Sugar/Jaggery, Chaat Masala/Red Chilli Masala, Turmeric, Kasuri Methi (Dried Fenugreek Leaves) Salt.

Procedure:- One can make thin chapati’s and use them for this purpose.

Masala Khakhra – On a flat tawa add little oil and fry the chapati on low flame. This ensures an equal amount of frying and makes it crispy on all even sides. Add some chaat masala, salt, turmeric, and red chili powder on both the sides and flip it alternately. Allow it to fry till it turns crispy. Masala Khakhra is ready to be served with chai or tomato sauce.

Khakhra

Sweet Khakhra – I love this and this is super yummy. I have to try this with jaggery soon. On a tawa, add 1 to 2 tbspn of ghee. Fry the chapati for 5 mins on both the sides. Add sugar as per taste. The sugar will caramelize and make the khakhra crispy and hot. Please do not touch this khakhra as the caramelized sugar is really hot and might burn. Serve it as after lunch/dinner as a dinner and avoid those preservative-laden icecream’s 🙂
