Some places don’t need huge signboards or fancy interiors and setup to make a mark; they win hearts by serving delicious meals. One such place that truly stands out, and I have been visiting for over eight years, is Hotel Rajdhani, located in Oros, Sindhudurg. For Punekars or anyone travelling via Gaganbawda, this is located on the left side of the road, before Kudal on the NH 66.

Familiar Place
I like that this place isn’t fancy, but it feels cosy and welcoming. It has a local vibe from the start. They serve liquor, and there’s a separate family dining area. They have a lovely open garden with giant coconut trees, and in the evening, they set the tables outside for families or people who prefer to drink. I believe they also have rooms available, but I’m not certain so that you can ask during your visit.
My experience at Hotel Rajdhani
Now, let’s talk about the star dish of the restaurant: Matka Biryani. Whether it’s chicken or mutton, every matka is filled with tender meat, rich masala gravy that binds it together. I’m a biryani person. Love a nice biryani that is full of gravy. I hate the use of artificial flavours, fragrances, and colours.
The best part is that the masala isn’t too strong; it doesn’t leave that burning sensation in your throat after eating. It’s perfectly balanced and flavorful. The matka adds that earthy aroma, and it remains warm for a long time. We always order the half-sized portion, which is enough for a family of three. If you are solo, try the per-plate option, but we personally prefer the matka biryani. I don’t eat mutton, but my family loved it too. Check my reel to know more about this place. They also serve Chinese food, and we love the starters here.
A Few Things They Can Improve
Replacing the plastic plates with traditional steel or ceramic ones and adding more lighting in the outdoor space, as the tables feel dimly lit in the evening. The family area features a lovely rustic brick look, but during the day, you might notice crows hopping on the top bars or even the tables. However, I actually love watching the squirrels and cats running along the bars and playing around the area; it adds a bit of charm to the place. The family seating area in the afternoon is partially open, so I suppose a little addition of long windows might look good in the space, as the open area allows dust and soil to accumulate on the tables.
