Cities are full of concrete and chaos these days. Heavy Rains and Greenery are one thing we crave to see in cities these days. I’m blessed to be a part of Sindhudurg now. It’s almost 2yrs and I’m yet to explore the scenic places. Sindhudurg is forever blessed to have trees at every turn. This makes tourists visit every random stretch and many monsoon places. My post is a part of the Monsoon Blog Train π
Savdav Waterfalls
This magnificent waterfall is located in Savdav a small village in Kankavli. This is like the best spot these days in Monsoon. The freshness and serene nature are best for some detox π Tourists who visit this also enter the fall area to have a bath which is considered safe for swimming.
Amboli Waterfalls
Amboli is said to be the hill station of Sindhudurg. If one crosses the Amboli Ghat during monsoons this is a scenic spot for travelers. Nature, cold breeze, hot corn/maggie/tea, rain, and some crazy climate are what you will come across on this Ghat. Amboli Waterfalls is always overcrowded during monsoons. Just like other hill station youth these days enjoy here and come to booze or dance near the waterfall.
I would suggest being careful while entering the waterfall area as there are chances one might slide down. It is a naturally occurring waterfall, at present has stairs and railing for people who cannot make it through the rocks(the stairs have continuous water flow too). Next time you visit this place please close your eyes and listen to the gushing waterfall stream. P.S. This is always active during monsoons, rest of the seasons it would be just a small stream of water flow.
Hiranyakeshi
This place is located at the foot of a hill. It is the origin of the Hiranyakeshi River. The temple originates from a cave and has an idol of Goddess Parvati Hiranykeshi meaning golden hair. There is a Shivling and Ganesh Idol. The water flows forcefully from the cave to the Kund(tank) area which further flows and joins the Ghataprabha River.
I hope this post helps you to make a list of these famous monsoon places in Sindhudurg during the monsoon.
