The current crisis had made us all #StayAtHome and spend some quality time with our family. I’m sure everyone is on a lookout for new recipes and good homemade food! I have started WFH around 2016 and it was quite a task to #StayAtHome and work all by yourself. Nitin managed to help me to stay calm and work.
I manage all household chores and work in Sindhudurg. Nitin or I have always helped each other during any odds may it be workload or home errands. I keep trying different new recipes and succeed in these at times. This post has one of our absolute favorite and easy moong dal pakodas recipe.
Ingredients:- Whole Green Moong (soaked overnight) or moong Dal (soak for 30mins or 1 hour), green chilies, onion, garlic, coriander, and salt. Optional – Whole Roasted Peanuts or Cashews
Pre-Procedure:- Grind Moong, green chilies, onion, coriander, garlic, and salt in a mixer. A coarse yet semi-thick mixture and adjust the water accordingly. To a cup of moong, add 2 garlic pods, 2 chilies, 1 small chilly and onion, a sprig of coriander, salt Onion can be skipped as well.
Procedure:- Take a small Kadai, add some oil to it. Take the moong mixture and mix it well with a spoon/with hand and add small balls in the hot oil. I always prefer little oil or shallow-fried. Fry these till they turn little brown or crispy. Relish these with organic tomato sauce, coconut chutney, chai.
I’m sure we all have been through a lot during this phase. Let’s stay calm and spend some quality time with our family #AtHome. Spend at least 15 to 30 mins to meditate, calm your mind or allow positive vibrations in your surroundings.

Moong Dal Pakode is an excellent snack. The best part is that even though it is fried, the nutrients in Moong compensate. Great with a cup of hot tea.

Crunchy, delicious bite sized fritters made of moong dal. This is a quick and tasty deep-fried snack made with ground moong dal mixed with some simple masala. Great thoughts.
