Babies are the best blessing. They are treated with all the special care and pampering by the family or loved ones. Like everyone, I always wanted my baby to get the best baby care products. Being a skincare enthusiast myself it made things slightly easy to check different brands available in India. Many of them use coconut oil, mustard oil, or olive oil. I had a super clear vision of not using Dabur Lal Tail. I only wanted to use great and effective massage oils for my baby. I’ve used 3 body oils for her and will be talking about my experiences on the same.
Shesha Ayurveda Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
This Kerala-based brand has stolen my heart numerous times for its amazing thailam formulations. Renji Anooj, Co-Founder & Director of Shesha Ayurveda who is also a mom to cute twins. I love her transparency in her blog posts and her brand as well. Coconut Oil is super versatile. It is a super useful oil. I’m currently in Pune, it’s December but full of surprises. The unexpected rains, cold weather, and fog have hardened this Pure Extra VCO. I’ve been using the oil since the day we got discharged from the hospital and started our daily massage for the initial 4 months. It is nice non-sticky and absorbs like magic into the skin and hair. The coconut oil is Rs. 350 for 200ml and Rs. 299 for a 100ml glass bottle.
Shesha Ayurveda Lakshadi Ayurvedic Baby Massage Oil
A perfect body massage oil for your little ones. Sensitive skin people can use it too. It is Rs. 299 for 50ml and Rs. 699 for 200ml. This oil is slightly thick than the coconut oil but it absorbs into the skin within minutes of application. I guess we used the small 2 bottles for her. I stopped using this one. The reason is super versatile coconut oil and can be used on hair or body by anyone. Our massage sessions have decreased! If your baby is below 1yr old go for Lakshadi Oil. It is an ayurvedic formulation oil hence it has that soothing and therapeutic earthy fragrance to it. It is not overpowering at all.
Homemade Coconut Oil
Sindhudurg is has all nature bounties like the coconuts trees. I’m grateful to have neighbors who offered me nice pure homemade oils for our massage sessions during the initial day’s post-delivery. The small reused plastic bottles with pure homemade coconut oils in them. The time when our Shesha Ayurveda 50 ml bottle got over these came to the rescue as a backup. The place has given me everything in abundance! *touchwood
Juicy Chemistry Baby Massage Oil
It is their Almond, Calendula & Vitamin E Baby Massage Oil. I’ve loved this brand for its dedication towards perfection and transparency about its formulation or source of ingredients. I can never forget this brand as it was the one who had sent me my first ever baby care products! I was on cloud nine once I opened the package before my baby’s birth. It was a super special and joyous moment for me as a would-be mother! The oil is a superb formulation with Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Calendula Flower Extract, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Pomegranate Seed Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Baobab Oil, Organic Camellia Seed Oil, and Natural Vitamin E Oil. This contains no essential oils.
The only con is the glass bottle, it really gets difficult to massage and keep it aside. This oil is a must-have for anyone who wants to add a good routine healthy massage routine for the baby. It is priced at Rs. 850 for a 100ml product. The pricing is just on point with the above potent healthy oils added to the formulation. It is slightly heavy in texture due the oils present in it, take small quantity and spread gently across the body. Gently massage the baby to absorb it well. I love the moisturising effect of this oil. I can vouch for this brand’s efficacy!
I’ve used these baby massage oils for my daughter. The post is not sponsored, all opinions are based on my personal experiences/observance. Currently, I only use Shesha Ayurveda Coconut Oil for her body and hair. I use it as a pre-bath massage session. Apply the oil every day on her scalp in the evening. I can personally vouch for the above oils but it is always necessary to check if the baby is allergic to any ingredient or oil in it. A patch test is necessary. I would request any mom to do thorough research on the brand’s page for more information and purchase according to the needs. If the prices bother some of my readers, don’t worry you can always pick or try them during the sale period on the websites. Alternately, you can use my Affiliate Code VARSHA15 on Juicy Chemistry App/Website for discounts during non-sale periods. I even have an affiliate with Vanity Wagon with code VARSHA. Currently, Juicy Chemistry has BOGO offer live so grab the chance to pick your favorite product or anything you ever wanted to try from them!
