A topic so close to my heart and still I kept avoiding it for so long. My pregnancy journey was not that difficult but yes it was a challenging one! Being a first-time mom during the Covid outbreak was difficult. It came with all the possible challenges. Shesha Ayurveda Products proved to be a boon for me.

I somehow felt relieved to spend time with my husband. He made sure to do everything possible and support me right from using masks to sanitizing my hands post every hospital visit. Masks were a task for me as a mouth breather but we sailed that boat somehow.

Let me put it out straight there, I was scared due to the restrictions and being away from my maternal family. I kept longing for them during the initial phase but everything happens for a reason and it all aligned well in the end. Now let’s come straight to the point. I wanted to start this series of pregnancy care products. They helped me sail my aftercare journey effortlessly. Shesha Ayurveda products helped me and my baby to a very long extent.

I never imagined a c-section, it was always normal in my mind that I kept visualizing till the end. But God had some other plans, my BP wasn’t normal during the last trimester, and mouth breathing would make it even more difficult to try for a normal delivery and that is how a c-section came into the picture. This also meant extra care and more maalish sessions. I was scared to use adultered massage oils that did nothing but gave in fake hopes and were priced high. On the other hand, I knew since beginning that Shesha Ayurveda products would help me achieve desired results in no time.

I’m blessed to be a part of Sindhudurg and here we still have local ladies who are the best for postnatal body massages. We had already asked one aunty who did everything for me and my newborn. It was for almost 3 to 4 months. I always say this – Every pregnancy is different irrespective of the delivery method it is both joyful and tiresome. But in the end, it’s all worth it when you see and touch your healthy baby.

In this blog, I will be talking about these postnatal products that helped me physical and emotional relief. I would like to thank Reenji Di for bringing out age-old traditional formulations of Shesha Ayurveda Products. I even told her this and would like to put it out here as well – For someone who hates oil, loving or applying oil every day is a huge thing ❤️ My preconceived notion about oils or thailams has finally changed. I still use Shesha Ayurveda Products and have tried many of them to date. One of the products that my little toddler and I are obsessed with is their lip balm.

Nalpamaradi Choornam This is a beautiful Ayurvedic Bath Powder. It is a combination of four ficus tree barks. I asked my massage aunty to bathe me with this powder. It felt soothing and like a warm hug to me. This is specifically best for pregnant women, moms, and babies. It acts as stress relief and removes all the fatigue your pregnant body has gone through during the birthing phase.

Dhanwantaram Thailam is undoubtedly the best massage oil I’ve ever come across. It is a pre/postnatal massage oil that has several benefits to relieve muscle cramps, numbness, pain, and swelling. The moment this is applied on the skin it absorbs like magic into the skin within no time. Loved the natural orangish hue this has and the best part is it isn’t sticky at all. This was used on my face (oily sensitive skin type) as well, later I was a little scared and asked Aunty to avoid my face. Regular use of the oil reduces stretch marks during and after pregnancy.

Nalpamaradi Thailam is a beneficial oil that helps with de-tanning and skin brightening. The oil boosts radiance and improves skin and deep hydration. This oil is in its true color due to the presence of turmeric in it. Please ensure to wear some old clothes to avoid staining. This can be used on your face as well but if you are someone with sensitive or super oily skin please be extra cautious and use it as per your skin type.

I used it for some time and stopped using it as I felt the oil was difficult to be washed on my face I tried to avoid heavy face cleansers during the initial post-delivery phase. Post delivery I had dark underarms which is weird and never happened to me before. This was all hormonal and the thailam helped me get rid of dark underarms as well with regular use.

Their website also states regular use of the Dhanwantaram Thailam + Nalpamaradi Choornam bath would help to reduce pregnancy stretch marks. In my case, I did not know the oil had to be applied pre-delivery. I started using it regularly post-delivery. All these thailams come with an earthy and natural herb fragrance that is not overpowering. I have a sensitive nose and the fragrance does not bother me. Always do a patch test with any new product.

A little fun fact – Shesha Ayurveda have even entered moisturisers section. Have you tried the new moisturisers? I’m eyeing their Kumkumadi one a lot, the bright red hue is so tempting and the texture is pure butter.

Are you excited for Part 2 for some amazing product recommendations? If you loved reading about the Shesha Ayurveda Products don’t forget to share it with your friends or someone who might benefit from the above products.

Have you tried any of these Shesha Ayurveda Products? One thing that I can guarantee is using Shesha Ayurveda Products has been a true blessing for me.
